Wire Sculpture Workshops

Immerse yourself in the World of Wire with a workshop with Tania Spencer.

Throughout the year Tania holds workshops for various private, school and community groups. These workshops can be tailored to fit specific lengths for your needs and skill levels.

Tania’s specialty wire workshops range from 2-hour short courses where participants will learn a single technique, through to an intensive 5-day multi-technique master class.

Smaller workshops include working with wire basics including sculpture, jewellery, and basketry-based workshops, along with specialized wire textile technique workshops.

During Tania’s master class, participants will learn more in-depth skills while being fully immersed in the world of wire textiles. Discover and explore a multitude of textile techniques adapted to wire including twining, lacework, looping, knitting, crocheting, meshwork, and weaving, resulting in a free-form sculpture, basketry, or a wall piece.

Using wire as a structural material, in this workshop we will explore age-old textile techniques adapted to creative wirework. Think twining, lacework, looping, knitting, crocheting and weaving. Learn to manipulate wire, get it to behave, and create innovative basketry forms, freeform sculptures, and wall pieces.
