Inherent Lineage Solo Exhibition Opens

My first solo show for 4 years Inherent Lineage goes on Show at Gunyulgup Galleries on the 30th March. An exhibition of hand bent knitted wire installations, wire drawings and metal embroideries in copper and steel and aluminium. Linear reflections, symbolic of social interaction and family lineage give rise to explorations of lace patterns and layered volumetric forms.

This selection of works celebrates the creativity and skills that my grandparents and parents have bestowed upon me. The works reflect the materials from the farm environment I grew up in and the knitted lace forms celebrate the textile skills learnt when I was young. The structure of the works is symbolic of the web of social connections and relationships we all have in our lives, sometimes strong, sometimes not.
